Quantum Spectator Interviews Our CEO on Quantum Infrastructure in Asia Pacific

A Q&A on quantum-ready data centers, cloud access, and what enterprises can do now instead of waiting for fault tolerance.

Quantum Spectator has published a Q&A with our cofounder and CEO, Dr. Jie (Roger) Luo, on the state of quantum computing infrastructure in Asia Pacific and what the region needs to move from research to commercial deployment. The interview, by Samuel Abraham and Rahul Joshi, is titled “Quantum’s data centre moment.”

Roger describes the infrastructure in layers: data centers ready to host quantum systems, a cloud layer that opens them to users, and the supply chains and talent that grow around live deployments. Cloud access, he argues, is how most enterprises will use quantum computers.

On timing, he said: “Waiting for fault tolerance is the one strategy guaranteed to leave a company unprepared, because fault tolerance will not arrive as a light switch and become widely available to everyone on day one.” His advice to enterprises is to pick a few high-value workloads, pilot hybrid systems, and prepare their data, security and post-quantum cryptography plans now, and to “treat quantum as the next phase of your accelerated AI computing roadmap rather than a separate, exotic project.”

The interview also covers the hybrid quantum computer that BDx Data Centers and Anyon Computing plan to deploy at BDx’s SIN1 data center in Singapore.
